Bret was born and raised in the small town of Hughson located in the agricultural belt of Central California. He found his calling in art early in life and his talent was fostered by parents that actively supported his drive and ambition. When not drawing he was engaged in various sports( i.e. soccer, baseball), playing board games with the neighborhood kids, watching old film and classic TV reruns like Columbo, The Munsters, and Jonny Quest.

He attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania going towards a BFA in 2D animation, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the animation industry.

He currently lives in the Greater Houston Area with his equally talented wife, Melody Conner.
